The oldest continuously operating poker room in the world, according to Card Player Magazine, the California Grand Casino has been running poker games in Pacheco since 1854 in its original location directly across the street from where it's currently situated.

Cal Grand has been voted best casino in the Bay area several times running. It's owner is a former WSOP champion, so you know the attention to detail is going to be top notch.

Opened in 2009, the new location just off of Interstate 680 at Highway 4 is completely smoke-free and includes a spacious gaming area with 19 gaming tables, 25 wide-screen HD TV’s, lobby seating, a full-service bar, free wireless access, and a sit-down restaurant.  There is ample parking at the casino, as well as free valets service.

Games offered include Blackjack, 3 Card Poker, EZ Baccarat and Pai Gow Poker.

The poker room is one of the best around. Games run 24/7, and there is uasually a seat open. It's best to call ahead and put your name on the list just to be safe.

With 14 tables, they are able to spread a decent mix of games. Limit Hold Em goes from 3-6, to 6-12, and up to 15-30. No Limit Hold Em starts at 2-2-3 and goe sup to 2-3-5 with max buy in of $500. One of the best parts of the poker action is the bad beat jackpot. It's a progressive style jackpot that starts at $140,000 and gets bigger until someone loses with quad 8's or better. To qualify, you must be using both hole cards.

Omaha 8 or Better, and Hi Lo Split are also played with a kill.
