Colonia Downs is a horse racing track in New Kent, VA.   They host live harness racing, and thoroughbred racing.  They also offer simulcasting for betting.   The track opens Monday, Tuesday and Friday at 5pm and 12pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Facility: The grounds are a total of 607.4 acres, and there are two infield ponds.  The grandstand can hold 10,000 people and is 127,000 square feet.   There are 95 wagering stations and simulcast theatres.

Track: 1.25 mile dirt track, second only to Belmont Park. 1,290.5 foot long homestretch, 1349.5 foot chute that accomodates one-turn 1 and 1/8 mile races.  The track has great surfaces for harness and thoroughbred racing, multiseason turf mixture permitting spring and summer races.  4.5 degree banking on the diret track and 5.5 degree banking on the turf track.

The Secretariat Turf Course is probably what Colonial Downs is the most popular for.   Its a 180' wide course.  This is the widest in the nation.  It has eight different rail settings and allows Colonia Downs to card most of its races on the turf.  They also can handle up to 14 starters per race - more than most anywhere in the country.     It has 5.5 degree banking on the turn.

You will find the same dining at all of the AWC locations... Nothing special here, but its a racetrack and OTB!  We've got the usual american fair and fried foods:  Wings, Chicken Tenders, French Fries, Nachos, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Chicken Sandwhiches, Grilled Cheese, Salads, Popcorn, Crackers, Cookies and so on... You can find domestic beers here, and wine by the glass.  There is an assortment of non-alcholic beverages as well.
