Fremont Hotel Casino
The Fremont Hotel and Casino is located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas. It’s right at the Fremont Street Experience. If you have watched any movies featuring Las Vegas, like Casino, you have probably seen the Fremont Hotel and Casino. The marquee of the casino is legendary and used often in movies about Las Vegas. In May of 2006, the Fremont Hotel and Casino turned 50. For five decades, the Fremont has been serving tourists in their hospitable way.
The Fremont Hotel and Casino isn’t known for entertainment—beyond great gambling options. It’s known for its great award-winning food and super rooms. The hotel has 447 rooms and suites. In the summer of this year, the Fremont underwent a complete renovation to update their rooms. The new décor is tranquil and gives visitors a nice relaxing feeling—quite different from the energy in the casino. Their rooms have all the amenities you would expect from a hotel in downtown Las Vegas. As with all rooms in Las Vegas, the rates vary throughout the year. Their rates are very competitive for the area.
But, who stays in their room when in Vegas? One aspect of coming to Vegas is the food. You have to stuff yourself when here. The Fremont offers many dining options. Since they are in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, you have hundreds of places to eat within a short walk—and I mean short. The Fremont has one of my favorite chains—Tony Roma’s. If you have never eaten at Tony Romas, it’s a must. They have the best ribs around. The baby back ribs are tasty and fall off the bone. For those not into pork, their bountiful beef ribs are just as tasty.

If it were on the Strip, the Western Hotel would have been imploded years ago. Being in a less-than-plush block of East Fremont Street, the deteriorating casino was able to extend its life by catering to a clientele of low-limit gamblers and $1 beer drinkers.
