Red Dolly Casino in Blackhawk, by Steve Hall (C) All Rights Reserved
Red Dolly Casino is right on the City line between Black Hawk and Central City. It's a smaller casino but does very well because the regulars are treated very good. Try your luck in here and you'll be suprised at the fun there is to have. Awesome staff. Here is a recent review from Steve Hall:
Red Dolly Casino Review: I stopped by the Red Dolly casino the other day and liked what I found. Here's why.
This is a small, cozy little place just about half way between Black Hawk and Central City. At just over 2200 square feet, there's an awful lot of fun packed into a limited floor space. I mention the 'fun'? because that's what struck me first as I walked in. It just felt fun. Bright and vibrant and lots of smiling faces, both from guests and employees.
The staff was friendly and efficient. Even though the place was packed, the lines were short and moving briskly. The one cashier cage was fully staffed. The slot club desk, squeezed in next to the bar downstairs, was manned by a skilled employee who got me a card in like 60 seconds. Very quick. These folks had everything handled. The bartender was a blur, handling both the bar and waitress service, but still had time to talk with me about the camera hanging around my neck and bring me a second cocktail with just a glance from 10 feet away. When the machine I was playing ran out of quarters, a tech was there fast with bag in hand. This was a tight-knit, experienced bunch and their efficiency really helps Red Dolly go.
I didn't eat at the sit-down restaurant upstairs, but it was crowded (always a good sign) and three different players I talked to who had eaten there in the past all gave the food high marks. Good enough for me. They were running a $3.99 prime rib special which seemed to be pretty popular.
There's no gaming tables at the Red Dolly, neither poker nor blackjack. There's plenty of video poker, both at the bar and on the slot floor, and about 175 slot machines of all varieties. Some of the slots are upstairs, so be sure to check up there if you can't find what you're looking for downstairs.
There's plenty of outdoor free parking on both sides of the Red Dolly. The place was quite crowded when I was there and the lots still had numerous spaces available. Parking is not a problem.
So folks, I recommend you stop by the Red Dolly on your way up or down the Central City hill. It's a fun and intimate place I'm sure you'll enjoy. And don't forget to get a slot club card for your collection!!!

Hey, sweet town, hope you had a good Valentine’s Day! There are all kinds of fun things on the horizon, so read carefully. Councilman Jim Foley told me that the new playground for Pufferbelly Park is scheduled to be installed in April, just in time for warmer weather! We can’t wait to see it.
