Update: Azov-City should be liquidated before December 31, 2018, which includes its three operating casinos, due to the creation of a new gaming zone in Sochi and in accordance with the existing law from 2006, which permits each territory to operate a single gambling zone within the boundaries of the Russian Federation. WCD will keep our readers abreast of any new developments.

Shambala Casino is set to close by January 1, 2019 to reduce competition for new casinos in Sochi according to a new law signed by Vladimir Putin on May 1, 2016. The law will allow all casinos in the Azov City region that recieved permits prior to June 23, 2014 to maintain operations up to the new date. Shambala Casino owner Maxim Smolentsev is proceeding with plans to make major additions to the Hotel and Casino expecting this new operational date will be changed yet again.

The second phase of the Casinos construction began in 2016 brings the total game room floor space to a total of 80,000 sq ft (roughly 7,500 sq m). The entire facility comes to a total of 19,000 sq m with 40 gaming tables and 750 slots. Five restaurants are found throughout the resort property, which features a 5-star hotel with 110 guest suites available. The casino is open 24 hours a day.

The Shambala Casino, Oracul, and the Nirvana are the remaining operational casinos in the Krasnodar Krai - Azov City special gambling zone. As the new casinos are announced we will review them here.
