JoAn Giannoni of Dixon has received a 2008 Western Fairs' Association Blue Ribbon Award for her volunteerism with the Friends of the Dixon May Fair. Since its inception in 2000, Giannoni has served as the secretary of the all-volunteer friends. She also chairs the group's college scholarship committee, which awards $13,000 annually to Solano County residents majoring in an agricultural field.
