One traveler gave a poor review, and then said that he usually stays in Holiday Inns. That's a telling comment. Those who prefer Holiday Inns near Dennys restaurants shouldn't stay at the Crescent. The Crescent is for those who prefer historic hotels approved by the Preservation Society, with elegant service and dining, and clawfoot bathtubs. And what a history! I was especially taken with the Crystal Dining Room. Just imagine, a five course dinner, well prepared and elegantly served (with real silver), for under $*! Where else are you going to find that? And there is a sumptious free breakfast in the Crystal as well. My wife and I visited in the off-season (late January). We will probably return in the spring, when more local shops are open (many closed until March) and the garden is in bloom. My only disappointment was the ghost tour, which I thought a little hokey, but then I'm a big time skeptic. The hotel history certainly lends itself to such. ABC, Texas

The Crescent Hotel is absolutely amazing. We had the time of our life, everything was perfect from the room to the food. We went as non ghost believers but came home as believers, we had really strange things happen in our room which are totally unexplainable and could have not been rigged by the hotel.

Crescent is such a beautiful place. We have stayed there three times in the last three years and will stay again. Try the North Penthouse- The view is breathtaking. We used the spa on our most recent stay and the service was great. The Crystal Dining room is neat, but slightly overpriced. The service was good and the staff is friendly. You are even likely to see the owner out and about with his dog.

If you're a fan of architecture, of places that are full of history and character, then you absolutely must go to the Crescent. A grand, almost intimidating structure, it is filled with a variety of beautifully decorated rooms; victorian in style, but not over-the-top-floral-nightmare victorian. There are gorgeous verandas on the front and back of the hotel on multiple levels offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. There is a spa on site, as well as a restaraunt that doubles as a dance hall, a bar with it's own veranda, and a history worth reading about. There are ghost stories stemming from when the hotel was briefly run as a psychiatric hospital, rooms said to be haunted. Eureka Springs is a beautiful place to go, and staying at the Crescent made it that much more special.
