Thanx for a pleasant stay. My friend and I stayed for 3 days and we couldn't believe it was just a walking distance to Time Square and the Theater District. The staff were so kind, helpful and welcoming. I would definitely stay again next time I'm in NYC.

Wonderful old Hotel. We loved our updated, clean room. Roomy enought for two and very comfortable bed . Doormen and desk staff were both very nice and helpful. The location was prefect for walking to shows, eateries and all the sights from Central Park to the Empire State Bldg. Times Sq. is two or three blocks away. My only suggestions would be to offer rooms with a sml. fridge and a coffee maker. The business center has one computer and printer but it wasn't getting much use during our stay. We love our stay and wont forget Matilda. This was our first visit to the Algonquin and we intend to be back many time to come.

Despite having no HOT water our entire stay, the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Sure the rooms are small, but that was expected. The hotel is in an excellent location..on a side street that was not as noisy as I had anticipated. Luckily my son lived in NYC and I could shower at his place. That was the only drawback the entire 4 days we were there...no hot water...I don't know if it is always that way or if something was wrong those days. But I would stay there again because of the location and the comfortable bed...

The Algonquin is small and charming, cozy, with a great history of NY round table discussions, great night club acts, and illustrious literary person hanging out. Not "luxurious," but very comfortable, and most excelllenly located near Times Square and Broadway. Walk to many restaurants, museums, theatres, and clubs. The elevators (2) were undergoing an upgrade (which was posted on the Website as a forwarning courtesy), so we were happy to walk down a few fllights of stairs going out; even walked up a couple of times, no biggy. We had no street noise in our room, and enjoyed our stay.
