Last minute plans on Columbus day weekend left few choices. This was one of few. First off there were no wash cloths in the bathroom, but there were 5 big towels. There was no coffee, but there was creamer, sugar and a coffee maker. As I was opening cupboard doors and drawers, looking for coffee, a drawer front fell half off into my hand. The bed was uncomfortable. The sign said the office was open at 8am..no one there until 9am. No place to leave key (a real key). Went to the coffee shop.. across from the office (hotel property I assume). I went to use their bathroom and there was a dead mouse floating in the toilet. I assume traped and discarded...but it was not gone. The service there was nice and food was fine.. The Inn reminded me of something I would have thought was the quality of a college living arrangement...just barely liveable. There certainly wasn't a rose on the pillow like the photo indicates one might expect. I do believe the sheets were clean and it was vacuumed (albeit stained carpet). The bathroom needed painting and a decent shower head (and those washcloths). 3rd floor, no elevator.

This is the first time I've written a negative review about a hotel I've booked on Travel Website. This hotel was badly in need of maintenance. Our room even had broken glass on the medicine cabinet. All of the photos were misleading on the Travel Website. This hotel is not on the Beach. It's on the road. It's basically a motor lodge where you park underneath the rooms. The pool was tiny, and has parked cars surrounding it. The service by staff was minimal at best. And - I don't understand why the Travel Website price was listed at $* (which is what we paid), and the person at the front desk showed me a rate card listing my room at $*. It was barely worth $*.

It was the most run down and dirtiest hotel I had ever stayed in. I would recommend it for it to be removed from the travel agency web site. The only reason I ended up staying the amount of days reserved and because there were no vacancies in the area and I did not want to dissappoint my grandchildren by going home. Also I had already pre-paid the hotel

was a nice play to stay about 20 years ago. The staff was great, the cafe was good, the shower was good, and the view from the back balcony was beautiful. Unfortunately, that's about all the nice things I can say about the Grand Beach Inn. It's old, drafty and in much need of remodeling and repair. If you're a young group looking for something not too expensive close to the beach or ammenities aren't important to you. Then I highley recommend it. Defnitley a one star property
