We stayed for one night before a cruise. Hotel was in a great location - walking distance to the water taxi to get to the gold souk and spice souk passing through the textile souk along the way. Hotel staff was very friendly at the front desk and restaurant. The English Pub/Restaurant inside the hotel, Sherlock Holmes, was reasonably priced and diverse menu. We chose the room rate that included breakfast which had a nice variety of hot and cold items. The hotel doesn’t look like much from the outside but our room was large, comfortable and clean. We took a taxi to the hotel from the airport without an issue and the hotel staff flagged a taxi quickly the next day to get us to the cruise. The cruise port was only about a 10 minute ride. If we are fortunate enough to make it to Dubai again we will be staying here and would recommend it for the convenience and value.

I chose this hotel based on the last review posted here and have to agree with all that gentleman had said. There could be a few more umbrellas around the pool, but then I did not go there for the pool. Between the facilities, to include restaurants and bar, and the efficient and friendly international staff, the place is worth your money. They could also sound-proof the windows so that the muezzin does not throw you out of bed at 4:30 a.m. But - you are in an Arabic country.

The hotel is in the middle of the old town, which is really what you want to see. Everything else is just a tourist trap, expensive and overloaded. The nice parts of Dubai are just around the corner and when you don't want to spend $* to see a hotel lobby, then this is your place. The personell is very friendly, you receive a welcome drink, a great room with a beautiful view and a complementary fruit absket. And this in Dubi, where absolutely nothing is for free. We give it five stars no question.

stayed for our anniversary and loved every minute, excellent location, beautiful hotel, friendly staff and great food. they gave us wine and a cake for our celebration which was a welcome surprise. hotel is ideal for anyone who wants to be in the cultural heart of dubai with the museum, creek, historic basatkiya and water taxi at walking distance,.
