We stayed with our three teenage boys for 12 nights in August 2011. For the price we paid the hotel was everything we would expect and more. Was delighted that we had a balcony over looking the swimming pool area. Very relaxing in the early morning and late evenings to sit out on the balcony. The hotel staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Several times we had to ask directions or for information and they gladly printed us out mapquest directions. The laundry room with a washer and dryer on each floor was a bonus also. It was only 3 to wash and dry a load of clothes. Small store downstairs on the main floor with necessities. Our room had wood floors rather than carpet which was a plus with teenage boys going back and forth to the beach every day. Housekeeping cleaned the room each day with clean linens and made the beds. They did not do the kitchen clean up as far as dishes. It was just like they said a full equipped kitchen with everything from dishes to toaster. We even found a can opener in one of the drawers. One night we used the electric grills and patio area to have a bbq. The walk to the beach was exactly what they said about a block and a half at the most. I was a little nervous after reading a few reviews that werent real positive but our experience was in every way wonderful! Wouldnt hesitate to stay again or to recommend to family and friends.

We stayed at the Waikiki Banyan with our three teenage boys. The good: location, price, nice king size bed for us, pool and rec area, kitchen and cooking amenities, clean. The not-so-great: super outdated room - this doesn't really matter to us, but there is this icky feeling about exposed old laudry plumbing, chipped tile, old fixtures, thin worn carpet, ancient TV with no movies, no wifi. But then, this encouraged us to spend no time there, it was kind of great! The actually bad: clueless, unhelpful desk staff who only knew "I don't know" or "no we can't" for answers; and the horrible, ancient, poking-springs sofabed and rollaway that justified saying this was a room for *. So do ask for a upgraded room before you reserve and do ask questions about the actual beds they are calling beds.

First visit to Hawaii was absolutely wonderful. Waikiki Banyan Hotel/Condo was fine for the four night stay. Comfortable and for the most part clean. Walk in to small but full kitchen with full size refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, sink, microwave, coffee maker, and counter space. Island counter with four bar stools. Numerous cabinets with dishes, pots, pans, blender, etc. Nice to have a full kitchen to use for breakfast and a late diner one night. Living area small but adequate with couch, chair, end table/lamp, and flat screen tv mounted on wall. The balcony was pleasant to sit and enjoy the views. Adjoining room could be separated by sliding doors (though doors needed to be better secured on tracks). Two comfortable (though not overly comfortable) beds in room with closet and dresser. Security safe in closet. Bathroom split - sink area with cabinet fine, toilet/shower area fine though could use a touch-up, on final day of our stay rain caused the vent fan to leak rusty water. We were busy enjoying so many activities that we never used the pool, or the basketball court, or the kids play area, or the grills, but those are nice amenities to have if we return for a longer vacation the next time. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Not once did we hear any excessive noise through walls or even from recreation area. Overall a very pleasant stay at this hotel/ condo location.

Got a great price with Travelocity for a condo unit we expected to be on the lower floor without view. For our family of four, including our 20-yaer old daughter and mother-in-Law, we didn't get charged for "extra person" charge, which was such a deal! We got a nice unit higher up on Tower I with a fabulous view of the ocean from our balcony. I was surprised to see family photos on the walls and I realized the units were privately owned, but managed by Aston. The bedroom, which was partitioned off from the living room, had a double bed and a twin sized bed. There was a sleeper sofa in the living room. It was very comfortable and everything was within walking and/or running distance. Waikiki beach was two blocks away, as well as Kapiolani Park. It was less than a block away from Ala Wai canal with a walking path along side it, which is great for walking and running. On Saturday, we ran through Kapiolani Park, up the hill towards Kahala and ran around Diamond Head. There was a wonderful, lively farmer's market in a park near the entrance to Diamond Head. The front desk arranged for our early morning airport taxi ride and wake up call and was very helpful.

I read different reviews on this hotel but my experience was superb!!! My husband and I stayed in condo #1603 in tower two. The bed was soooo comfortable!! We had a tv in the bedroom and a flat screen LCD television on the wall in the living room. And the couch it was very comfortable. We never did use the pull out couch bed. Bathroom has a large tub. Every time we needed assistance on how to get somewhere the front staff was very helpful. They would print out a map to how to get there. Also the called and scheduled our pickup for the airport on our last day. For the money I couldnt have asked for any better. A. On the day of our departure they let us stay in our condo past the normal check out time of 12:00. It was extended to 2:00 pm but our airport shuttle picked us up at 1:35pm. The Safeway grocery store is abt 1.3 miles from the condo. We walked but paid for a cab #*#41 to take us back. We had alot of groceries. During our 7 day stay we only ate out twice. Saved alot by eating in. Pool area was very nice!!! Very nice grills and clean!!! This is a must stay place!!!!! Balcony had 4 chairs and 2 small tables. Very nice. We ate hamburgers and fries outside one day. Fish pond is so beautiful. I would definitely recommend the Aston at the Waikiki Banyan.
