We would definitely stay at the Marriott again. Our room had a great view of the ocean and pool. The pool, hot tub and grounds were immaculate. The open-air bar offered a variety of drinks. The food was good and the bar/restaurant had a view of the pool/ocean. It was convenient to all attractions. Friendly/helpfull staff. Rooms large/clean and updated.

This hotel is a gem. Has a great out of the way , semi secluded feel although it is not. Is located directly on the beach with a long walking/jogging path that goes for miles along the ocean front. The rooms a very nicely appointed with beds are very comfortable. Everything very clean and refreshing! The staff is EXTREMELY kind and generous. Have traveld extensively throught the world and this is one to remember. Highly recomended you will not be dissapointed!

This hotel is a great value. Yes, some rooms are a little dark, but how much time do you want to spend in your room? Nicely furnished rooms that are clean with a recent remodel. A few ants yes, but even a $* a day resort can have them. A little spray takes care of them. Very friendly and supportive staff. Quiet rooms. There are 10 pillows on the two queen beds in our room. Look past the minor issues here. I would expect to pay $* to $* high season for a room like this. Only service improvement I suggest is to issue pool towels at the bar near the pool instead of reception.

FOR THE PRICE WE COULD HAVE STAYED AT ANOTHER LOCATION THE ROOMS WERE SMALL AND SMELLED LIKE IT HAVE NOT BEEN OPENED IN MONTHS. UPON ARRIVAL A NOTE WAS LEFT UNDER THE DOOR FOR OUR ROOM TO BE SPRAYED FOR BUGS. THERE WERE ANTS IN THE BATHROOM. THE BED WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND IT MADE NOISE EVERY TIME YOU MOVE. THERE IS NO ONLY ONE RESTAURANT AND A LOUNGE BAR BOTH VERY EXPENSIVE. ALSO THERE IS NOT GIFT SHOP AVAILABLE. WE WILL NOT STAY THERE EVER AGAIN

The Aston Kauai Beach At Makaiwai is a clean and convieniently located ocean front hotel that has a small bar/lounge and resturant on site. This place is not fancy and will not elicit oohs or ahhs for fancy grounds or lavish pools but it's well maintained and tightly manicured. The rooms are nice and very well maintained with no stains or peeling paint, the bathroom is small by modern standards and is a one person at a time affair. The bed was good, it worked for my wife and me, what more can I say. There is a small fridge and in room safe along free high speed internet that is wired via cable modem with ethernet connection and NO WiFi. I have Verizon cell service and got 1/2 a bar and no 3G in my room, so thanks for the wired internet. Eventhough your on vacation you might like to work out. The fitness room is tiny with 2 treadmills, 2 stair climbers and a exerbike-no universal gym or free weights. So your'e better off doing press-ups and going for a run. There is an ocean front jogging path about 1/2 mile down the road.
