We had a studio on the 6th floor for 8 nights. The view is amazing. It was very fun to whale watch from the lanai each morning. We bought our own food at Safeway#40sign up for a store card free and it saves a LOT!#41 so were able to have most breakfasts and a couple lunches in the room. We also grilled once at the pool. We love North/West Maui so the location is excellent. Our friends had a 1 bedroom and for the price difference I think we will too next time. Seemed to be a lot more roomier not that the studio was bad. When we come back we will try to get a room on the first floor for the convenience of walking straight out to the beach or floors 10 or higher to be fully above the palm trees. Service was excellent and we experienced no problems during our visit.

Nice location. However, the first studio that they checked us in was bad. The bed was not made up, bathroom was bad and dust behind the retractable bad. We went to the front desk and they accomdated us to another unit which was okay. The dead bolt in the room could not be used as it was broken and the door had marks on it as if somebody has pushed in really hard to get into. We did not say anything about that. The front desk staff was okay not real friendly and the pool and beach front was good. No Restaurant on property but one within walking distance. You need a code to get in. Here again, the front desk did not tell us, we were able to find out thru yelp and trip advisor. I won't stay here again, unless they can give me units that have reviews from past customers as good.

This place was perfect for us! The check-in was a breeze. This is not a hotel but private condos and the views are drop-jaw gorgeous. Straight on ocean in front of each room. Walk a few feet and your toes are in the sand. Very clean and the kitchens were perfect for dinners in most nights. We would actually hurry back at end of day to not miss the sunsets. We left the doors open at night to hear the waves crashing beneath us. It was well maintained and we will defintiely go back sooner than we had planned. Stop at Costco by the airport on your way in as the stores nearby are pricey. You can rent snorgel gear across the street and there is a video store there as well. You are in an excellent location! Read the Revealing Maui blue book before you go!!!

I love the views from the room. The beach and ocean is about 60 yards away. You get lulled to sleep by the waves every night. The rooms have everything you need and the service is wondeful. One drawback is they don't have a restaurant in house but that didn't deter me, I still love the place. The wifi is pretty weak but who should be on the internet that much anyway. I just like to keep my email cleaned up. I had better luck using my Droid phone to check email.

The Mahana is one of the rare exceptions to the rule of thumb that something that seems too good to be true probably is. The windows really do extend from the floor to the ceiling; the ocean views are amazing; the Mahana is so close to the ocean that it seems that the units are almost hanging over the sea below. And yes, you can see turtles swimming in the ocean next to the Mahana. The units were spacious—plenty big enough for our family of five including three teenagers—and bigger than most condos we have stayed at in Florida and California. We stayed in two different units at different times on our vacation. Both were very nice, but one was exquisitely decorated in a Japanese style by the owner which certainly added to our pleasure staying in that unit. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant which also contributed to our enjoyment at staying at the Mahana. Every day we walked a few hundred yards down the beach where the snorkeling was excellent: beautiful coral, many kinds of colorful fish, and some turtles. The pool and spa were more than adequate for us, particularly since we were spending so much time in the ocean and doing other activities. We also didn’t miss having a restaurant on the premises. There are a few within easy walking distance and many within a short drive, including some of the better Luaus. And finally there’s the price: the Mahana is a terrific deal compared to many of the pricier resorts on Ka’anapali beach. Overall, it was a perfect base for our vacation and it will be our first choice of a place to stay when we next go to Maui.
