My wife and I have been to Maui several times. We had never stayed in Kaanapali. This trip was extra special because it was our babymoon. We are expecting our first child in December. The Ocean Villas Resort is beautiful. Great location, great property, and well positioned on the West Side of Maui with a great view of Lanai and Molokai. Loved the walking distance north to Dukes or south for food and shopping into Whalers Village. What we found to be exta special was the "aloha spirit" demonstrated in the level of service provided by the Resort employees. ABC at the front desk was amazing. Her level of professionalism and friendliness was five star. She deserves a raise. Then, ABC at the pool had the BEST ATTITUDE of all of the employees on property. I would come back there beacuse he was always available with five star service. We had a Star Hot card which was unable to be used at the poolside for food discounts so on three separate occasions he "set us up" at the restaurant by the pool and took great care of our food orders. I liked the burger and hot dogs and my wifes favorite was the chicken sandwich. We had another two lunches there just becasue of his great service attitude. We wanted to just r-e-l-a-x on this trip. Very little activites, just lots of beach and pool time and plenty of eating and shopping. The fellas at the pool shack on the north tower were cool. ABC did a great job setting up our umbrella on the beach and we were able to swim with turtles that day. All in all. Kaanapali surprised me! Fell in Love with West Maui again and looking to spend two weeks there next year!

This hotel made our trip to Hawaii terrific! The staff were all so polite and helpful and the hotel was lovely. There are two beautiful swimming pools, several hot tubs, a lovely garden and an almost private beach. What else could you ask for? The rooms are very nice and were cleaned and serviced even more frequently than the hotel info said they were. The hotel has an hourly shuttle that takes you to Lahaina to shop and they are happy to tell you where to stop for the grocery stores or any other shopping you may need. We didn't hardly feel the need to leave the hotel grounds, because it was so lovely. We'd go back there in a heartbeat!

I have to say that this place was the perfect place to go and relax. There are 2 very large pools, each with two hot tubs, and a kids pirate ship pool for the young ones. The ocean is very calm and has a reef that starts 10 feet out and allows for snorkeling and other ocean activities. There is plenty of beach in both directions. The property is beautifully manicured with large Koi ponds, plenty of golf course grade grass, great restaurants, and a very nice atmosphere. I can't recommend this place enough.

The resort and rooms were beautiful, rooms very nicely decorated, modern and spotless. The kitchen was well equipped with marble counter tops and all appliances. Very friendly staff and great amenities. The beach is gorgeous with white sand, but you can also snorkel there...schools of bright blue fish swiming all around us. Also nice is the free shuttle to the other hotels or into town...so you don't even have to use your car. Be sure to visit the black rock beach at the nearby Sheraton...great snorkeling and people jumping off rock. My only complaint is that they never had hula dancers performing pool side in the evenings. Many other hotels in Hawaii have this for an hour or so in the evenings. Would love to go again!

As return guest every year we were very disappointed when we didn't here or see any new offering in the resort especially around the holidays years before they offered tons of activities and staff was very friendly at check in table. when we came this year they were sitting on a chair texting on a cell phone which i find very unprofessional also when we came up it felt as though we were being an interruption. we asked for the schedule and she said here you go and that was it no information about events or even the program for kids. we ended up taking our children to the westin maui in kaanapali where the kids had a blast they truly felt special there the team took the time out to get to know my kids and they even had postcards sent to our house to thanking them for coming to the kids club program. I think thats where Westin Villas lacked next year we will stay at the westin maui they seem more into their guests. The activities team should be more welcoming and want to interact with their guests.Overall experience was ruined from the minute we got it if it wasn't for the front desk agent being so polite we would have requested to checkout and stay at another resort.
