The hotel was great. The staff was friendly and helpful; the rooms were clean and decently sized for our needs. This is not the place to come and spend a lot of time in the room but if you need a place to sleep right on the beach this is it. The only down side to the hotel was trying to find it. The hotel sign is no larger than the address numbers you see on the side of buildings and the entrance is sunken back from the street so we passed it several times before we were able to locate it. The GPS took us right where we needed to go so the address was right it just doesn’t look like the entrance to a hotel.

I have stayed in a lot of hotels around the world and this one wasn't the best. The beds were very old and uncomfortable and I never felt my belongings were safe in the room while I wasn't there. I stayed four nights and although the cleaning staff came in each day and made the beds, the sheets were never changed. The location was great though; directly across the street from the beach.

Beach = right out front - which is the real selling point. Great front desk staff, super helpful and very nice. Rooms = you get what you pay for and it really is just a place to crash. Decent little open area above lobby for free internet and getting yourself sorted. Would have stayed another night for the location - not the room, but was all sold out due to the cheap nightly rate. Would stay again!

If you are looking for an upscale hotel with all the amenities and everything brand-spanking new, you need to book another hotel. If you are looking for a hotel with a view of the ocean, a bed to sleep on, and a short walk to the beach, this is your place!!! We stayed here in June 2008 and plan on staying here again March 2009. Yes, the hotel is in desperate need of some TLC and upgrading. There was also a refrigerator in the room, this is handy with an ABC store right next door. Buy some drinks there and store them in the fridge. The free continental breakfast is strictly pastries, fruits, juice and coffee. Get there early or you'll miss out. If you don't like tiny elevators, ask for the third floor rooms so you can use the stairs. Their elevator will hold 2 people and their luggage. The view from the lanai was amazing. Be sure and book the ocean view room. If you get the moderate room, you'll just have a view of a brick wall. I'm more interested in the location than the color of the carpet. I would definitely recommend this hotel based on its location and the price of the rooms. Who goes to Hawaii and spends much time in their hotel anyway????
