Important Hotel Information
- Guests fly internationally into Belize City and then must schedule a 15-minute flight to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, prior to departing for your trip. This flight can be arranged through Tropic Air 1-800-422-3435 or Maya Island Air 1-800-521-1247. Another option is to take a water taxi to San Pedro information is available at the airport.

A good price, but at what “cost”?

Brahma Blue does have some positives: it is new, clean, the showers and beds are nice, the balcony Is an added benefit, and it Is $* to $* per night less expensive than hotels in the main part of town. However, it is important to recognize several downsides including: 1) While BB claims it’s an easy trip to town, it’s anything but that. The boat schedule itself has several points with 1.5 hour gaps, and the boat was almost never on time (at points it left 10 minutes early, other times it was 45 minutes late) – so you have to bring your cell and be ready to call BB. Also, the waiting area near the boat dock is unsavory, and probably not for people who need to wait alone – especially at night. Furthermore, the boat driver became visibly irritated when we called the hotel because he was not on schedule or there as promised. He instructed us to relax and enjoy our vacation – hard to do when you can’t plan ahead. 2) BB uses a generator to generate its own electric power. While it is supposed to be hooked up to the city power at some point, right now the power is very unreliable and constantly goes out. 3) There was almost no management infrastructure to serve guests – such as getting complaints resolved or requests addressed. While the two desk clerks were well intended, they had no hotel experience nor the clout to get issues addressed. In short, Brahma Blue is in start-up mode. If you’ve got the patience of a saint and really need to save money, it might make sense to stay there. For all others, I’d strongly recommend spending the extra money to avoid the hidden costs of Brahma Blue.

We arrived late in the day and was met at the airport by Pedro the taxi driver, he dropped us at the dock and waited with us until the boat arrived. At the Resort we were met with a cool towel and rum punch, sweet! The entire staff was very nice, especially Ronel at the front desk and Jeffrey the boat Captain who waited for us one night until 1:30AM and ferried us back to the resort. We stay in a very, very nice two bedroom, two bathroom condo, way to big fro just two people, they do have smaller rooms. It's the perfect loacation for a get-a-way nd only five minutes from the center of town. The internet is slow but I did no go there to check my emails 10 times per day. It was our first time to Belize abd we will definitely go back.
