The Bertram Inn is a wonderful place to spend a night or a week. The rooms are charming period pieces, but with all the modern amenities (well, maybe the wifi is a bit weak on the 3rd floor). My wife and I both love to stay there on the few times a year we are in Boston for business. You simply cannot compare it to a normal hotel - it's more like the home of a rich old uncle who caters to your every need. Not having one of those, we are happy to go there. Our most recent trip coincided with the presence of the wonderful Christmas decorations with fragrant live wreaths and garlands. Exactly the sort of touch that makes this place special. We would recommend it to anyone and everyone. One caveat: it is an old home with three floors and no elevator. Their only "fitness activity" is climbing those stairs!

The Bertram Inn is the best kept secret in Boston! After a long trip, we were pleasantly surprised to find a warm welcome & cozy room awaiting us. They upgraded us to a suite & we felt like we were at home. Some of the rooms have fireplaces with firewood & instructions on using them. The staff were wonderful & very helpful, even Googling directions for us to find a store in Boston. The T-stop is a short block away.Breakfast was very pleasant in the cozy dining room & there were homemade cookies all day. We will definitely be back. Thanks for everything!!
