07/02/2009This hotel is an old motel which has been remodeled into a three star hotel, but rather than demolish/enclose the motel rooms, they gave them fresh paint and bedding. ...
This hotel is an old motel which has been remodeled into a three star hotel, but rather than demolish/enclose the motel rooms, they gave them fresh paint and bedding. When you get a ""garden"" room, you are getting a two-star motel room. Except for the garden area by the pool, the exterior stairs/vending areas/""hallways"" are maintained like a motel. I never felt safe there, between the gas station on one side and the out-of-business furniture store on the other that is leasing the property to an off-airport parking company. The first time I stayed there, I had to get them to change my room number twice to get a second floor, interior hallway. The second time, I called ahead....to get a first floor room that was open to the public. (As a woman traveling alone, not accomodating me is inexcusable.) Even the small hallway of rooms had issues because housekeeping would hold the (locked) door open while they worked, then neglected to close the door when they were finished. Given the large amount of competition in this area, skip this hotel. You can get an equivalent motel room for much less what they are charging or a nicer room for the same price elsewhere.

03/16/2009Location is awesome, the staff were very friendly, the food was good, the hotel room was clean. they are pet friendly. i highly recommend to stay at this hotel.

Tower rooms are fresh and new, quite nice; views were better though not great (due to location), whereas Garden rooms are motel-like, not worth the money for any discount. Garden rooms have no view at all, many face a parking lot, busy street and/or gas station; door latches seemed flimsy; rooms were dark, especially b/c you needed to keep curtains closed for any amount of privacy. Decor and fixings were old and beaten up. Breakfast buffet is a toss up: mixed service-levels; food if very much buffet quality; always busy. Lousy coffee, except in the lobby. Evening food is better, but you can do much better, especially for the $, by driving 2 miles down the road.

This was a great hotel for our family and super close to Great America whcih is why we chose it.? I would definitley stay there again.? They served a great buffet breakfast that was included in our stay and the kids menus was so reasonable you could not even purchase fast food for the price.? The hotel was all around excellent.? 5 stars all the way!!!
