This hotel is in Chinatown, not that safe for travelers. THe hotel is very far away of mid town, Manhattan, etc. You would have to pay aroung $* dollars per ride everytime you want to go to TIme Square of Fifth avenue. No stores or places around available for shopping, even for essential everyday staff. Service sucks! No professional at all. The smell on the hotel is like being on an old building. Bad night of sleep, the noise is so strong that you can feel the cars passing through your window. The worse bed I have sleep in years, plus the noise everytime you tourn can drive anybody crazy. It is worth it a $*/night but I paid $*/night, more expensive than even boutique hotels in the middle of Manhattan. I wish I could have my money back, I feel stolen.

We've stayed at this hotel before. We've written a positive review of them before as well. We've even had our staff stay at this hotel a couple times before. Obviously, we've had good experiences...until this last time. The front desk experience we dealt with, this most recent visit, was just unprofessional. The attention to detail that we had assumed this hotel had kept consistent - based upon our first visit here about 2-3 years ago - is lacking today. It's really a shame because we loved this place, but will no longer visit. I would recommend the management of the Blue Moon to reinforce the fact that the person at the front is the first and last impression that a phone caller and an in-person experience have and that the individual working that post should be above-and-beyond in their levels of customer service. Overall, great boutique hotel with loads of charm. Unfortunately, customer service that has lost its charm.

Stayed here with my adult daughter on our annual trip to NYC. We have stayed at many hotels at differing price points in the W. Village, E. Village and Lower East Side. This is by far the most comfortable hotel, in the best neighborhood and for a great price. Immaculate and homey, the owners and staff treat you as guests in their home and are on the lookout to make your stay more perfect at every opportunity. As a NYC history buff, this was a chance to live in history....magnificently and lovingly rehabbed up with every modern convenience. Directly across from the Tenement museum, Blue Moon is a former tenement building restored with original materials found on site when the building/hotel was frozen in time. Convenient to Museums, Chinatown, Little Italy and great shopping. Safe neighborhood and breakfast included make this hotel a serious keeper.

We stayed her for five days in October. As soon as we arrived, we were treated great. We were greeted by Antonella who is a fabulous person. Our room was clean and all the amenities were sufficient. Antonella recommended a fabulous restaurant (TRE) that was true to her word. We met the owner a couple of times who always seemed concerned about our stay. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to any New York City traveler.

Staying at the Blue Moon Hotel was like travelling back in time. The hotel was beautifully decorated, chic and sophisticated. Everything was immaculate and smelled amazing, right down to the linens on the bed. The staff was very welcoming and personable and was constantly trying to make sure that our stay was going well. The Blue Moon is tucked into a side street of Manhattan, away from the craziness of the city, but in walking distance to it all. It was the most inviting hotel at which I've ever stayed. I didn't want to leave when our stay was over!
