Did not have reservations when we arrived at 1:00 in the morning. The night clerk was nice - she called around & got us another room that was about 10 miles away. I will never stay at a Jameson Inn again and will not recommend it to anyone. My husband had a bad experience 5 or 6 yrs. ago with Jameson & he told me not to stay there. I should have listened to him & made reservations somewhere else.

Front desk staff checked us in efficiently. Room was clean. Breakfast had belgian waffles that you make yourself--my kids really like them. We were passing through on a trip, so did not use the pool or fitness equipment. Area felt very safe.

Front desk was friendly and precise. There was not even a shower cap in the room, only coffee. Free breakfast means you cook and prepare yourself. I requested smoking, received non smoking. There was no information about check in or out time, nor was there any informaiton about food services, front desk assistance or anything about the hotel that most travelers look for when they enter a hotel. This is the only hotel I have ever stayed in that had absolutely nothing to offer the customers. I don't remember even seeing an ironing board, no shower cap and only two bars of soap, one extra roll of bath tissue. The overall experience did not meet our standards at all, and I do not plan on ever staying there again. If you book a room, you had better find out about the amenities before you pay your money.

We stayed at the Jameson Inn while visiting relatives in a town nearby. There aren't a whole lot of hotels to choose from in Jasper so we chose this one randomly. They were very accommodating when we asked for a room change with a refrigerator. The room was fairly clean and was cleaned each day. They have a nice free continental breakfast with Belgian waffles. We enjoyed this because most of the breakfast places in Jasper are "greasy spoons". The only complaint that we had was when the battery in our smoke detector died at 10:00 pm and it started chirping. We called the front desk and she said that she would check to see if they had any batteries and if they didn't we would need to go buy one ourselves! She was apparently the only one on duty that night! Although we did not swin in the pool (the weather was cold) it looked pristine. For the price we felt that it was a good deal.

Everything was very nice for our stay except for that the pool was closed for the winter. It was in the 80/90's while we stayed and would have liked the use of the pool. If only the motels in AL could hold off untill the Nascar wknd in Talladega is over before they close their pools.
Very clean, nice rooms. Staff was friendly too.
