Excellent Value
12/19/2011We really enjoyed this hotel. great location and staff, very large rooms with kitchen and very reasonably priced. the rooms were not fancy but stylish and comfortable. highly recommend.

We had a great experience. The hotel and staff were nice. We were upgraded to a room with a queen size bed when we checked in for no additional fee, which was nice . The hotel room was just the right size for two people, it was neat and clean. The microwave and stove stop were awesome for the days we decided to eat in. The hotel is green and they ask that you leave a green card on the bed if you want new sheets and a green card in the bathroom if you want new towels. We forgot to leave the card in the bathroom, but were given new towels everyday, which was awesome. The hotel has 20 parking spaces in the back. When we arrived all the spaces were taken. We parked on the street and had to move the car twice. We checked the parking lot the second time we moved the car and a space had become available. It is best if you check out the metro before setting off to see the sights. We thought the mouments and museums were a short walk from the hotel. They were not, we walked almost two miles. We learned the next day we were only two metro stops away from everything, so take the metro and save yoru feet some trouble. Check out was as easy as check in. If you are looking for a quick getaway for a good price this is the place.

I just got home after spending a few days (Monday check in,Thursday check out) at the Carlyle Suites. The hotel is located about ten minutes by foot from the DC metro. I found the staff very accomodating and very attentative. The buffet breakfast is very good with a staff memeber on hand to make waffles or pancakes. The hotel is very clean. I found the room very clean, the bed is very comfortable with great linen that makes falling asleep after a long day of sightseeing very easy. The drawback is the hotel has maybe ten parking spaces for guests located behind the hotel. The staff will make every attempt to accomodate drivers for one of the spots but chances are one might not be available. The choices would be to park at a lot recommended by the hotel or, the hotel might recomend parking at their sister hotel located a few blocks away. The another drawback is that being a non smoking hotel, guests are seen standing around or sitting on the ledge at the entrance smoking. Not a good sight or image for the hotel. Certainly a turn off for nonsmokers as sometimes it is like walking through a gauntlet. Not to mention it looks like loiters. Managment needs to adress this issue. The other drawback is that the wireless internet didnot work well in the room as the signal was almost non existent. It must work well in the lobby as that is where everyone seems to be with their laptops. All in all I found it a nice, clean hotel , with a great bed and a tentative staff. For the price and what is offered I found it an excellent value. A very good place to stay with nice comforts without breaking the bank

I recently visited this hotel for Valentin'e Day and I have to say it was a pleasant stay. The room was exactly what I was hoping for. I planned a romantic dinner and having the kitchen right in the room made it a success! The comfort of the Grand King bed was outstanding! My partner recently had surgery and had not had a decent night sleep until that night..lol..anyway, I want to thank the staff for their great service and pleasant attitude. I really enjoted my one night stay & most definetly would stay there again. I will say this may be my new favorite DC Hotel!

The Carlyle Suites Hotel is a fantastic value. I stayed there on 2/18/09. I am sure you will not get a better value for the money in DC. Medium sized room, huge flat screen TV, comfortable bed, good location and free wireless - what does any traveler need? Oh yeah - the staff is friendly AND efficient. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk to the Carlyle from the Dupont Circle Metro.
