My husband and I recently visited the Cascase Village at Durango Mountain Resort and were sorely disappointed. The room we were assigned to was absolutely nothing like the pictures on the website. Our condo/townhouse was so dated and furnishings were so worn that everything seemed shabby to the point that it didn't even feel clean. We requested a room change and were accommodated to a condo on the main property that was slighly more updated and less shabby but still not impressive by any means. The bed in the new room was so hard we were both uncomfortable all night and really wished we had just stayed home. In general, we were greatly disappointed with the Durango Mountain Resort. The amenities were not as indicated on the website. For instance, the Village Market Deli and Wine Cellar are extremely limited in their space and offerings. The convenience store down the road had many more food items and at a much more reasonable price than the Market Deli. Also, the website does not have a map of where the Resort is located in relation to Durango nor does it mention that the resort is 26 miles outside of town to the northwest. This made a big difference to us, we would have greatly preferred to stay closer to town. In short, don't waste your money.

I booked this accomadation being represented as a hotel, it was someones timeshare. A pool/hottub were listed as amenities, upon arrival the pool was being repainted&the hot tub was located quite a way from the room, right beside the entrance to the lodge at the edge of the parking lot. The restaraunt/gift shop were closed and unavailable for the three days we were there forcing us to travel 20 miles back to Durango for all three meals. The room was adequate in size, cleanliness and charming. In order to find the location of the unit we were communicating for 30 minutes by phone because it was a seperate location where the keys were obtained. Very inconveinent when we had traveled for 8 hours to get there and had never been to this area before. The day we left someone finally showed up at the restaraunt/gift shop. This was a total misrepresentation and it was planned as a birthday surprise for my wife who had very specific health/dietary needs.Live and learn .
