This is definitely not a family friendly place.The photos do not do justice to this place. Displayed for sale on the wall behind the customer service desk in the lobby were bags of “K-2” and “Blaze-It” which contain synthetic marijuana for $* a bag. This is despite being banned for sale by the FDA and DEA effective 12/24/2010; it was still for sale on 12/26/2010. The nice “reception” area pictured in the lobby have been replaced by microwaves and ovens for sale. The walls are so thin that the sounds of the couple next door made us think a porno movie was being filmed. To top it off our room wasn’t serviced on a day that we left the hotel at 8:30 am to be tourist.

I loved the price, and that it was right on the corner close to a bus stop so I didn't have to lug my overnight bag very far. But the sheets were dingy, the pillows were old, and the mattress was hard as a rock. After freshening up on Friday night, I had to take the used towels to the desk to get fresh ones for the morning. But it was safe, and convenient for me. I would stay there again if the situation called for it, But now I know that the website pic is an older one, taken back when the paint job was fresh and new. I also know to ask for extra towels when I check in, and that there is no complimentary continental breakfast in the morning. Great if you're on a budget and you want something clean...and it doesn't have to be fancy.

If you like hard beds, such as found in Mexico and China, you are in luck with this hotel. If you like shower water that maxes out at warm (owner policy to mandate this) you'll be fine here. Both main and bathroom doors were so tight that they had to be forced into the door frame in order to close and the window was very difficult to slide open. Basic room size, furnishings, paint, walls and ceiling conditions ok. Price at the time I stayed was remarkably low. Internet access was easy with very good speed. The hard bed not so great for me, but the lack of actually hot water as a matter of owner policy is a deal buster for future stays at this hotel.

We stayed 2 nights. The hotel was decent for what we paid. The only real complaint was 2 of the lamps in our room were broken, and I told the desk clerk, and she said they'd fix them.. when we returned to our room later that night, NONE of the lamps worked.. Besides that the hotel was clean, besides the fact the downstairs smelled of cigarette smoke. Everything else was okay, a little out dated, but nothing bad for the price. It was our first time staying in VA, and the next time we visit we plan to stay on the beach. However; if I was visiting again and didnt have the money to spend on a more expensive hotel I would stay here again.
