My husband and I reserved a room at this hotel for our first and last nights of our week-long visit to New Zealand, where our son is a university student in Christchurch. We ended up staying at this hotel 4 out of our 8 nights in New Zealand as our plans changed and the staff at this hotel were so kind and accommodating that we just felt right at home. The front desk staff were very informative with suggestions and ideas for us inexperienced Americans on our first trip to NZ. The hotel itself is in a charming older building which has been fitted with a great modern bathroom and shower and kitchenette. The rooms were really pretty, the beds comfortable, the breakfast amazing, and everything was really clean. I can’t stress enough how extremely helpful the staff were in helping us decide what to do during our vacation, both in town in Christchurch and elsewhere on the South Island. The hotel itself was in a great location, and if you are willing to walk a few blocks, it is within walking distance to several great restaurants (where the parking is a bit tricky, so we walked). The hotel rate we received from Travel online was a real bargain – even a steal. We will definitely stay there again if we ever get a chance to return to NZ!
