Very clean and well-maintained hotel. Friendly front desk person, great Italian restaurant. The bed was very comfortable. Great air conditioning -- it went down to 55 degrees. The desk and night table lamps have extra electrical outlets built in. This came in very handy for plugging in my computer and charging my camera and rechargable batteries. Absolutely no complaints. We've put all the info in our phones so we'll remember this hotel the next time we come to Syracuse.

We were in upstate New York for a wedding and had plans to stay at a rent house, but the house was less than desirable (to put it nicely), so we needed to find hotels for 4 couples in a pinch. After some quick searching we found the Clarion had everything we needed - very affordable, good location (easy highway access), very friendly staff and soft comfortable beds. Although it lacked a few updates found in more modern hotels, the Clarion offered everything we needed for a good night's sleep at a very reasonable price.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend to go to the state fair. Location was nice-right off the highway. The hall smelled musty/stale but the rooms were ok. A bed, a TV, small table and a clean bathroom. The entire experience was ruined by the staff at the front desk. Kudos to X, the only nice person there. He checked us in and was polite, friendly and very helpful. The next day, when neither of our keys worked, we met X. She yelled at us for keeping the keys next to credit cards or cell phones (which they werent) slammed the re-magnetized keys on the counter and dismissed us. She never took her eyes off the counter and was in a foul mood. Later, we met X who was argumentative when I asked why there was no fridge in the room (when I was told there would be)..it was hard to hear him over X yelling at someone else but his reason was that he saw no notes in our file that we should get a fridge. For the next 2 days we saw other hotel guests asking normal questions like, ""where's the ice machine?"" and getting obnoxious answers like, ""if you looked at the book in your room you would know that its down the hall on the left."" If you can stay there and ONLY deal with X, you will have been a pleasant experience, oh and hold your nose in the halls. If you have the unfortunate experience of having to come in contact with X or X I would say dont bother going. There nasty people have no business dealing with the public, much less representing the hotel at the front desk.
