Hotel / Huts were well over an hour away from Montego Bay and surronded by a less than desireable neighborhood. You wouldn't want to venture out alone and very pricey to get to Montego Bay or Ocho Rios. Desk help was anything but. We were to meet with our customer rep on our first morning to confirm our return transportation but since she was not there that day or the next and the other reps refused to help because they "were not Patrice". Desk clerks would not help in any way. Rooms were very dated. Band at lunch and dinner was very good but nightly entertainment sucked.

Always remember that you get what you pay for. My husband and I went for 5 days, and the beginning was awful. We had booked a cottage. Of course they didn't have a cottage available. They put us in a room w/ poor ac! They told us they didn't have anything that said we pd for a cottage. Luckily, my husband had printed off the agreement. There were lots of people that showed up that didn't even have a room: they ended up sleeping on couches in the lobby. The staff was great, which is a positive. The place is run down and the walk ways are busted up for some reason. They use bulldozers etc in the middle of dinner, or any time of the day they please. We will NEVER return to this "resort".

This was our fourth time to Jamaica but first stay at the Royal DeCameron. We loved it. Check in was quick and easy. They had everything ready for us. We did have to wait until 3pm to check into the room but we enjoyed the hour wait with lunch and a few cocktails from the bar. The individual cottages were cool! It felt like we really escaped for days. There were some problems with the cable while we were there, but we really weren't watching much TV until we went to sleep at night. The shower pressure was nice and the rooms were clean. We loved the individual beaches. There weren't any rocks or seaweed like we have had at other places. The beach attendants kept any seaweed there was raked up and off the beach. There were places for us to relax in both the sun and shade. Food was delicious and was varied enough that we did not get bored with the choices. Amazing jerk Chicken and Pork if you like spicy foods! The bartenders were friendly as well as the restaurant staff. The grounds were taken care of daily and they were always planting something new. The gift shop was a bit overpriced, but I still spent money there. My husband and I think that this is one of our favorite places in Jamaica and would return tomorrow if we could. Definitely will visit the Royal DeCameron many more times in the future!

My two girfriends and I had a great time!! The entertainment at the facility does NOT go until 4 a.m. It started at 9:30 at night and ended between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m.!! The food was good and all the staff was pleasant and helpful to us when we needed anything or had any questions. The cottage we stayed in was nice and clean...a little rough around the edges in a sense when compared to a huge super expensive hotel/resort, but we loved it!!! More of a rustic type atmosphere, but we stayed cool and dry when we where in our cottage, most of our time was spent outside tho!!! They work hard to upkeep the grounds! This was our first time at an all inclusive place...it was great and we were spoiled. The food was good, and there are three restaurants to choose from (although the 2 ala carte ones alternate nightly) but it is easy to eat at all three when there for a week. There is a "snack" bar that is open between lunch/dinner and later after dinner if you miss lunch or dinner or are just hungry again. One person in my group was a vegetarian who ate no meat, she did fine finding foods to eat and never complained of being hungry. In fact when we ate at the Asian restaurant and there were no meatless dishes, the cooks made her a very nice vegetarian dish that was quite good. The entertainment was entertaining and we enjoyed it. All three of us are ready to come back and are sorry we had to leave. It was relaxing, enjoyable, and the best vacation any of us had!!! Take the trip to the Dunn's River Falls, it is great fun!!!!
