This hotel is in the process of remodeling, but other than some noticeable unfinished trim and finish work, did not affect our stay at all. Large rooms with either mountain or poolside views. Wrap around decks on second and third floors, and yes, they have an elevator if you need one. Very comfortable bed with lots of pillows. Roomy, clean bathrooms. Nicely decorated atrium with large pool. The heart shaped hot tub seemed a little out of place, and needed a few adjustments to some of the jets, but still felt great. Large indoor breakfast area with mountain views, or outside patio. Better than average breakfast selections. Covered motorcycle parking area. Hotel is in a perfect location to use as a base for exploring Mesa Verde, Hovenweep, Four Corners, and other sites in the area.

What a pleasant surprise! Much more upscale than most Comfort Inns. We were traveling with our family and easily fit in the room with our three kids. Roomy breakfast room with beautiful mountain view. Very clean - a great value. No noise from the remodel. We will come back and stay here.

Our room was really nice. I have rheumathoid arthritis and usually have to carry a memory foam pad to sleep on when we stay overnight in a motel/hotel. They had recently gotten new bed & bedding so the bed was much more comfortable than when we stayed there before. The mattress & box springs were the thicker more dense style you find today in stores.The bed was so comfortable that I was able to leave the sleeping pad I had packed, in the car. The bedspread was new and very pretty... solid color... burgandy. The bathroom was very clean and accessible. We did not stay in a handicap room because the tubs have low sides and I'm able to step over them quite easily. The evening was very peaceful and quiet. We slept very well. The next morning we stepped out onto the walkway on the second floor and had a beautiful view of the high mesa and autumn foliage. The sky was blue and the wind was blowing softly. It was a beautiful fall day. We went to the breakfast room and were met by some cheerful staff who smiled and said, ""Good morning"". We took some time to survey the room and what was offered for breakfast. They had about 5 different kinds of dry cereal. Milk, orange and apple juice, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, instant oatmeal, waffles,butter, syrup, biscuits & gravy, hard boiled eggs, bagels, muffins, and pasteries... plenty to chose from. The breakfast staff kept things stocked up as they were used. They also cleaned tables and straightened chairs after people left so there clean places for others. They need to replace carpet in the rooms and they may have been in the process of doing that. Some new room furniture is needed.

The maintenance obvisously has been neglected. Severe water damage on doors and walls in the bathroom almost 6 inches up the room must have flooded at some point in time. Carpet and chairs dirty. Pieces of shower falling off. On the plus side closer to Mesa Verde then the hotels in Durango, but after doing research Durango has more upscale motels/hotels although it is 36 miles away from Mesa Verde. This place is only 9 miles from Mesa Verde. All the motels in this area seem to be 2 star or less. If you don't mind the drive stay in Durango.

Large clean room, good breakfast
07/09/2008Room was very large and clean. breakfast room was large and there were many choices, including waffles. we checked in after midnight and desk clerk was very friendly and helpful.
