The hotel was nice, the staff was nice, the room was nice; however, there was too much of a musty cologne smell in the lobby, bar and restaurant areas. I would stay here again, but only if they get rid of the heavy cologne smell.

09/04/2010Yes, we would stay there again. rooms are not large but certainly adequate and clean. the location is extremely convenient. cocktail lounge is very nice and friendly.

The hotel is very nice and the rooms are very well decorated. There was even a chandelier over the bed. Very chic and clearly attracts a very upscale, sophisticated kind of clientele, particularly in the lounges on premises. I was there to pick up my high schooler from a summer program in Boston and enjoy the city together for a few days. The room had the smallest bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel. It was laid out well given the space constrictions, and it shouldn't have been a surprise given the hotel is quite old (though very recently renovated), but the bath space was quite tight for two with very little place to put out toiletries, etc. This would be a great hotel to enjoy for a romantic weekend and check out the lounges and dancing and enjoy the chic ambiance. But for a teenager and his dad just interested in hiking around the city it provided a little bit of a fish out of water experience. Great location though for exploring the city. Note that parking thru the hotel is VERY expensive at $* per day. One can park in the Prudential garage right behind the hotel for under $* with a coupon you can get online, though I didn't find that out until too late.

The hotel staff is excellent and very responsive to any issue. The only problem was the noise from the street, Exeter, by my window. The people walking by and the cars reving made it quite noisy and I had to wear earplugs. The rooms are large and quite comfortable.
