Location. Isolated in the Amazon rainforest overlooking the Napo River, the Cotococha Lodge in Quito, Ecuador, provides a hidden, 4 hectacre escape for travelers looking to explore the vibrant surroundings. The 200 kilometer, five hour journey from Quito Mariscal Sucre International Airport to the hotel is accompanied by an English speaking guide and is complimentary.

Guests can design their own Amazon excursions each day, and an expert guide is on hand to help travelers choose the most appropriate sightseeing adventure. Examples of available activities include visits to local communities, hikes in the rain forest, canoe trips, night walks, cascade visits, river tubing and rafting. Excursions through the rainforest are included in the rate.

Hotel Features. The on site Cotococha Amazon Lodge Restaurant provides a semi open traditional Amazonian environment and serves both local and International dishes. All meals are included in the rate. Guests can also relax by the lobby fireplace, and any questions can be directed to the 24 hour, multilingual staff.

Guestrooms. The Amazon style Cotococha Lodge contains 17 bungalows built with local materials. All guestrooms feature balconies with views of the river or garden. They do not have electricity, as oil lamps are used for light, and the windows open to allow fresh air inside. Complimentary toiletries and bottled water are also included.

Expert Tip. Guests should visit the butterfly farm in the Amazon village of Misahualli, located a short canoe ride away.
