Well its like someone else commented you get what pay for. When I opened the door to the room the smell of mildew knocked you out. The linens and towels were hard as a brick. Definitely will not be staying there again.

I wasnt aware that things had in anyway been out of sorts with this establishment untill I came to post a review of how well my eperience went. I saw nothing of the previous comments and found nothing but a courteous staff and a comfortable room...Note rather the establishment has gone thru some changes recently.

Stayed one night on the way to Florida. Arrived late on a Friday night. Parking was limited because of the locals at the attached bar. Requested a non-smoking room, but room smelled heavily of smoke. Three persons in the room and only (2) bath towels provided, which were thin and stained. Staff did provide additional towels, but quality was the same. Was looking forward to a good continental breakfast and getting back on the road, but all they had was cereal and toast; no juice, no fruit. Ended up spending the savings in price of a better motel on breakfast at a nearby restaurant.

While meeting a few relatives in Dothan on 31May08, my wife decided to stay at the Country Hearth based on their website, price, and online reviews. When she got there she said she thought she was at a party in the ghetto: low-riders, huge rims, girls in shorts that made her wonder whether they were working girls or not, hotel bar booming, parking lot full of people just hanging out, etc. She thought she'd just stay the night and get another hotel the following day since it was past the 100% refund cancelation time. Going to her room she passed the pool and was disgusted by its appearance (not what is shown on their website), said she'd never swim in it and couldn't believe anybody did. Finally, upon entering her room the cigarette smoke smell and lack of cleanliness was the last straw (frankly I'm impressed she made it that far), she left the premises and went to another hotel. She tried to get a refund but as to be expected the night manager (who also claimed to be the owner) wouldn?t budge, my wife still left room paid for or not she wasn?t staying there. Now this might have simply been a Saturday night occurrence and not how the hotel is throughout the week, but I doubt it. Personally the Country Hearth Inn (in Dothan for sure, verdict still out of their other properties, for us that is) is on my short list of places to never spend money at nor set foot in.
