Our hotel stay was nice. We were hardly stayed at the hotel, but for sleep..The hotel had us originally the day before my travelocity reservation. They had to upgrade us for that, to a suite. Everyone was vey nice and helpful. The kids liked the pool. The continental breakfast was a good size, with many choices. The hotel was in a prime location. Right behind the Alamo. We walk out the doors, and everything we wanted to go to was right there.

I booked a hotel under the surprise exclusive deals from travel agency and was pleased, later only annoyed by a few things. I got a great room at the Crockett Hotel, which is a superb location, great amenities, and great price. Unfortunately, I got there on an off-night for the staff: the parking valet was solo and didn't get to help me for 25 minutes, later I chose to park myself without getting pre-warned that I needed a hotel tag. Our keycard was for the wrong room, and didn't always work the hotel elevator properly. Our arrival so late the first night made us weary when we arrived and having those mishaps made us a little irritable, but after a night's rest (and a great walk on the Riverwalk) we calmed down. We would go there again.

I am not very pleased with our experience at the Crockett Hotel. The check-in time took 20 minutes because either Travel Website or the Hotel messed up our reservations. Then they gave us two different room sizes even though we paid the same for both. Our room was very small and the room our friends stayed in was quite larger even though I made the reservations. The desk didn't seem to know what was going on. Then they had us downfor staying for two nights, so they charged us a fee for late check out when we had checked out at 10:30 a.m. Now I see a misc. charge on my bank statement for $* ??? probably for parking, when we didn't even have a car. Now I've got to call and straighten that out. I don't think we'll be using the Crockett or Travel Website again.

If you like old hotels, this one's for you! The room we had was on the corner, which from what I could see, was much larger than the ones along the hall. Lots of windows, but saw parking lot and side of mall. Only downer was the A/C ran all the time!!! And was loud. Could not adjust temp. Stayed at 71* whole time. Next door to Alamo. Try to get room on northwest side and should see Alamo grounds from windows. Also next door to Rivercenter Mall, just walk across the street. In mall, can get to riverwalk. Took us about 3 - 5 minutes from room to river. Great location!. Parking-must valet your car, otherwise, cost more. Not that it wasn't cheap. $* per nite, but get access to car anytime w/o paying extra fees. Valet brings it to you. Get Riverwalk info from some other websites, not the info booth in mall. Its run by Wyndham and all they want is to get u to do property vacation share thing. Uhh!

This was the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The breakfast was awesome they had waffles shaped in the state of Texas. The hotel is about a block from the river walk and the Alamo is right out the front door. The staff was very friendly, from the outside the building doesn't look the greatest but you have to remember its an historical building the inside is lovely. I know that when I return to San Antonio the Crockett is where I will be staying. I've only been home 2 days and I already miss it.
