Like most Crowne Plaza hotels, this one is a little past it's prime. The carpets are dingy and everything looks a little more than worn. I booked it because it was described as being near the Galleria, but I think it is a little too far away for that description. The food at the hotel restaurant was ok but the servers knew very little about the menu and brought a packet of red pepper when I asked for cracked black pepper for my salad. I will probably not stay at this hotel again.

We were given excellent service. The front desk was courteous, friendly, and prompt. The room was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The restaurant served a wonderful variety of delicious choices, at affordable prices. Parking was convenient and secure, with valet parking available. Crown Plaza River Oaks is convenient to Houston's Medical Center, downtown, and freeway system. We are pleased with our experience, and intend to stay there again, when visiting Houston.

Very dissatisifed...go elsewhere
01/13/2010Everything from keys not working, doors were fixed (but still broken), no hot water, etc. reserved a regular room 3 weeks in advance. go to check in & told ...
Everything from keys not working, doors were fixed (but still broken), no hot water, etc. Reserved a regular room 3 weeks in advance. Go to check in & told by Front Desk Rep that they only had a Handicapped Accessible Room available until next day. Had no choice or other alternatives... Very dissatisifed...go elsewhere
