Room is dated, wall paper peeling off the wall in the bathroom. Carpet in room needs deep cleaning, my daughter and my white socks where black by the end of the evening just from walking in the room. Resturant food is very bland for the price, potatoes with steak were cold, and service was absolutley horrible. Waitress was swamped with a whole 4 tables and very slow in getting refills for drink. Over all not a bad place, just way over priced basically the quality of a Holiday Inn express masking as preminum hotel. As I have a son attending UK and will be traveling to Lexington often over the next 4 years, I will find someplace else to stay and spend my money at.

The place is old, but the location is decent. It may have been nice 20 years ago. if you get your room for cheap it is worth the stay. Not worth high room rates. Has a bar in the hotel, but they have a cover charge. I was there on Friday and saturday night, the place was very lively and fun, but the crowd was 85% over 50. I got a good price off of travel agency so I enjoyed my stay. If I had paid the going rate I would not have been happy.

Our expierience was not a good one... Even though we got up and turned the air conditioner on high to mask the noise, we were still awoken by the slamming of doors in the hallway (that continued all night long) and a baby crying from a room close to ours. The walls must be paper thin. I assume this is a continual problem because when we arrived in our room there was a little gift bag of various knick knacks that included earplugs! Two additional complaints includes an ironing board that we never recieved even after calling the front desk twice and the alarm clock that kept going off in the middle of the night even though we made sure 3 times that the 'wake up time' was set correctly. We definetely will not be staying at this hotel again.

Paid the price thinking it was going to be a great hotel which it is nice or you can tell it was nice years ago. Had to wait about 30 min to check in and some people told me it took them hours. If you go by the pictures they post you will be disappointed. Don't get me wrong it is nice just when I drove 7 hours and thinking we were getting the hotel in the picture we were disappointed. I wouldnt pay over $* if I were you it's worth up to that.

We loved the place. Great food, great bar, very nice elegant decor, very clean. The pool was cold - needs to be warmer. The sweet-tea soaked fried chicken is wonderful. The breakfast was delicious and the waitresses were very hospitable. The bar Bogarts is a fun place. I will definitely stay there again. The only thing, and this didn't bother me, is.... on the 3rd night of our stay, I was awakened by the sound of slamming doors around 3 a.m. We had noticed there was really no one staying on our hall of 60 rooms. If there was, we never saw them. The doors slammed consistently about every 5 or 10 minutes and this went on for over an hour. My husband heard it but said it was probably people leaving. I'm thinking that could not be it. There were never any footsteps. So then the next morning, we're eating breakfast in the dining room and I decided to ask the waitress if this hotel was known as a "haunted" hotel and the stories poured out of her. I then told her what happened and she called the other waitresses over and they all agreed that what we heard was very strange. So I get online and see story after story about this place being haunted. Another worker told me things that shocked me. I asked the front desk, but of course they denied anything like that. I noticed online that 2 women had been murdered there at different times in the past. I do not know the absolute facts, but I can tell you, I now believe there was something.... BUT, it is a great hotel.
