The hotel has been modernized with LCD tv's and new furnishings. I stayed in a suite and access to the executive floor were breakfast was served as well a cocktails/appetizers in the evening from 5 to 8pm. both in a private setting overlooking Lake Managua. A good place to have a business meeting in the evening. It will certainly impress your guest. There are 3 rental car desks in the lobby and free guest parking with 24 hr security. The property is right across a modern shopping center. Overall, I highly recommend it.

We started our drive and see trip at the Crown Plaza because it appeared to be the ""best of both worlds"" -- an American style hotel with a bit of a Nicaraguan feel. After a somewhat harrowing experience getting through the airport, the airport to hotel transport was a godsend. We could not have managed one more negotiation! The hotel was welcoming, the staff was helpful, the room was a slight step above basic, and the bed was heavenly. The hotel restaurant offered good fare, excellent service, and good prices. In the morning, the pool was welcoming and warm... and empty except for me. I can't remember when exercising was so relaxing!! We walked up the hill behind the hotel to take in the views of the city. It was well patrolled and felt extrememy safe. The hotel staff was very helpful in making recommendations for what to see and do -- even though their English was not very good. With their slight knowledge of English and our slight knowledge of Spanish -- and a lot of gesturing and drawing -- we got everything we needed. The best recommendation we can offer is that the hotel experience was so pleasant and so relaxing that we chose to stay at the hotel again for our last night in the country. Tip: Ask for a high floor -- the views are lovely!!!
