we had a wedding there because we thought it was reasonably priced and the service was good. We had booked 10 rooms for all out of town guests. On their first night, one of the suites had a smell that seemed like some kind of gas smell. The smell took over the entire second floor. The staff at the hotel were great, tehy did whatever they could to help, but the management never took the claims seriously. They claimed this is normal for Edmonton hotels that have fridges. My family was moved from room to room. That was not even the worst part. The day of the wedding when I thought everything was taken care of. When we went to go get our pictures taken, appies was suppose to be served and never was. When we came back everyone was hungry and not very happy. The immediately brought out dinner and what do you know, the appies were served with dinner. The dinner that was served was horrible. It was not what we had sampled. Then the dessert was never served. Until my mother went and told someone, they had no idea they were suppose to serve it. Finally when they did bring it out, it was frozen. Apparantly the caterer went away for the weekend and did not leave proper instructions. The only thing that saved the party was the front desk staff and the bartender, they were amazing, but overall, this was very disappointing.

The hotel we originally booked did not match the online description. This hotel was 1/2 block away. We had a 4th floor room over the restaurant. 2 queens, mini-fridge & microwave, coffee, ironing board, hair dryer, video games. Pro: Entire Hotel is NON-SMOKING! The room was quiet & clean. The mattresses were firm and comfortable. In room temp. control. The pool is medium in size. (Larger than the best western and travellodge nearby, however travel lodge has water slide). The hot-tub is small with 5 person capacity but was never full. The staff were generally polite and moderately helpful. Proximity to West Edmonton Mall excellent. (Hotel located on 100th ave. -- 1 block to 178 st, turn right/south and WEM about 5 min away. Hotel sells discounted water-park and galaxy passes.) Con: Pass card required to ride elevator up. This is a hassle when 2 card given for 4 occupants. Room service attempted but the line was always busy -- Gave up and had Panago (excellent) General: Exercise room equipped with treadmill, exercise bike, recumbent bike, multi-exercise weight machine, water cooler and tv/remote. Small room but functional. Pool/hot-tub access via lobby. Nearby to the west is a walmart superstore with various stores and fast food; to the east are more stores and shopping and various restaurants like Kelsey's. Access from the south is simple by taking the west ring road north to 100th Ave. and turning east. The vibration mentioned by another review was also experienced during our stay. However, cleaning staff were not loud or even heard by us. Pillow are tiny --3/bed. Note to Mgmt: front desk staff could be more polite on the phone--less attitude/sarcasm. Housekeeping was polite and responsive to requests and inquiries. When in Edmonton will will book this hotel again.

After spending the weekend of February 14 in this hotel I would not say here again. The pillows were almost none existant. You needed 2 or 3 pillows to just have something to sleep on. When we asked for more we were told they didn't have any. The shower curtain was riped in the bathroom. In the morning when housekeeping was doing their cleaning they were extremely loud. Also when the washer on the main floor was spinning the water out of the linens it would shake everything. We were on the forth floor and could feel this. When checking out we and another couple on the same floor made mention of this and were told that it could not be and we were just imagining it. When we mentioned the housekeeping noise they said that there was nothing they could do about it. I would not have a problem if it was not 8am that they were banging, slamming and other various noises. I would suggest paying the extra for a different hotel. They might cost more but you get a better nights sleep.
