We wanted to be on the beach the night before the cruise so we chose this hotel, one block away. We arrived at the hotel after 2pm by taxi. When we entered the lobby there was no eye contact or acknowledgement that we existed by the lady behind the counter. When she did take note that we were there she told us that there were no rooms ready and we were not guaranteed a room until 4pm. Did I mention that we arrived by taxi? We asked if there was somewhere we could change and store our luggage and she replied with "don't you have a car?" I then requested to wait by the pool and I asked her to call me when my room was ready and gave her my cell number. We dragged the luggage poolside and debated on whether to call the travel agency or not. About 15 minutes later she did call and we proceeded to the lobby and checked in. When she gave us the map to the hotel to find our room, she drew a line from the lobby to the room; which was across the street on another block, that led us to walk all around the hotel with our luggage to find out that the access to the room is in the back of the hotel. This was just horrible customer service, especially for Florida. I have always had the best experiences in hotels in Florida because they are usually so very accomodating, but this time, we were the ugly step-children. If you can stand rude- go to this hotel!

It appeared it was at least a 30 year old hotel that had been redone a long time ago. Part of the hotel is across the street from the main hotel and looks even older. The free breakfast is located in yet another "sister" hotel even farther away, but close. The room A/C could not keep the room cool even late at night. The bottom floor of the hotel had water leaking from some machine and was a mess. I booked the room based on reviews here, but a 2 star rating is generous even considering the nice staff.

old hotel was okay for JUST a night....but not for more. door wouldn't lock so we had to wait for maintainence to come up and fix it. pool was away from the main building and breakfast was on the next block at the best western, which was extremely crowded in the morning. i asked for an hour extention for check out since we are travelling with 2 toddlers and had issues with the room. most places don't have a problem doing this, but they refused. the beach was about 3 blocks walking which would be okay, but with 2 little kids, it was a treck back and forth and would have preferred to be directly on the beach. would definately NOT stay there again.

A Nice Stay
07/17/2010Room was clean. bed was comfortable. shower, refridgerator, tv remote, lighting all worked well. it was close to beach, pier, shops and i got a great rate for two nights.
