This property accepted a "name your own bid" from an online source but would not honor the bid in exchange for a 2-bed room. The manager wanted to charge full retail rate and was unreasonable. Unfortunately, we stayed in the property anyway since our credit card had already been charged. Due to the front desk manager's uncooperative attitude, we will not refer this property to any of our friends traveling through the region.

I have stayed at several Days Inn franchises and I would definitely not pick this one again. On arriving early in the afternoon, there was already a parking problem. We ended up parking in the rear of the building by the broken down hot tub. The beds were the most uncomfortable things ever. Even my 8 year-old commented how uncomfortable they were. As far as the value for the money, extremely bad. After arriving in Custer, there were signs on a large number of motels that had vacancies and were less than half the price we paid for this room and they appeared to be much nicer. I would have cancelled but unfortunately I would have lost all the money I had already paid for the Days Inn. I would definitely not recommend the stay to anyone. If the staff had been friendly and outgoing you might even want to try and overlook everything else, but they weren't. Even the stairs leading up to our room were narrow and very dimly lit as were the hallways. Just not a very welcoming place!

A friend and myself were given a room right next to the lobby and ice machine which gave us little in way of sleep. The motels hot tube was right outside our window and people were getting noisy out there even early in the morning. The staff served juice with more water then any sort of flavoring and this places parking is a mess. Oh and if you happen to come in late as we did don?t expect a friendly greeting from the night manager all your likely to get is a couple of grunts and a figure pointing to your room. Plus the beds feel like they have not been replaced in years. As wonderful as the town of Custer is I could not recommend this place to any traveler. Plus the front door had no sort of lock on it meaning people could come and go without being noticed by staff.

We are on a one month tour of the West and this Days Inn is by far the best place we have stayed. It is spotless and the people are very accomodating. Custer is the center of all activities here. I highly recommend it. We have stayed at LaQuinta, Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Holiday Inn and none of them even remotely compared to this one.
