For the location and price the stay was great. Located ten miles outside downtown Charlotte. Hotel located right beside a mall and it was within close distance of multiple eating and shopping areas. We stayed in a two queen and one king suite. Plenty of room to spread out. On the negative side...Poor ventilation when cooking, closet door broken in one room, minor toilet problems, and one day towels were not placed in the bathroom.

The room was clean but smelled of deodorizer. The elevator and hallways were extremely warm. The hallways smelled of moisture. The room was difficult to cool. The staff were helpful and friendly. While you have a stove there are no pots to heat anything up in. If you can't mic it don't bring it.

I am used to stay in Doubletree Hotels across the country and this one is one of the worst I have stayed at in my travels. The first night I found a cockroach roaming my room and that was after I entered my room which was 85 degrees as per thermostat. When I went to bed 4 hours later it was down to 78. The bathroom was missing its towel bar. The toilet appeared to have leftover feces in it. I went to go get ice a floor down and there was a huge dead bug on the floor. The place needs to be exterminated. I can only wonder what the kitchen was like. Speaking of that, I had breakfast there each morning and the buffet is lacking. Stay away from the apple juice as it has fermented. The pastries are old frozen kind which still have freezer moisture on them. Back to my room, I changed the next day and they attempted to give me a room where I walked in and my whole face got congested due to the smell of mold. Thet finally gave me a third room which is missing a toilet paper holder in one bathroom and the other bathroom they have yet to replenish towels or toilet paper after 3 days. The walls in this hotel are not soundproof nor is ceiling/floor. The carpet is stained with many mystery stains. The kitchen in the room is outdated but serves its purpose. On a brighter note, it is right next door to South Park mall and has many nice places in the area. Sadlly the only bright spot deals with location and not the hotel. Stay in the area but do not stay at this hotel. I hope Doubletree pulls their franchise soon.
