  Only problem was that the hotel staffing closes at midnight during the winter and i was unaware of that. we didnt get to the hotel till about 2 am and ...

  only problem was that the hotel staffing closes at midnight during the winter and i was unaware of that. we didnt get to the hotel till about 2 am and was forced to ride around and sleep in car for a few hours till they opened. so we lost a night att the hotel, but other than that the staff and service was nice while we were 'staying' there.

  We have stayed at the Econo in Durango several times. A good choice for the budget conscious, convenient to downtown. Rooms are really nice and the pillow-top mattresses in our rooms were better than our own at home. Friendly staff who guided us to several of the favorite local restaurants.

  but what do you expect for an Econolodge? It was built in the 70's and reflects that. My fiance wasn't impressed with the doughnuts and swissrolls for their continental breakfast and I wouldn't liked to have a minifridge which seems pretty standard nowadays. I do have to say it is in a good location.
