Booked 6 months in advance but they did not have my reservation. Said they had no way of honoring lost online reservations and weren't really interested in fixing the situation. We were on our own with that. We did not get our deluxe Queen room, we were lucky they had a tiny twin bed room. Hotel was not luxury but it was adequate and clean. We enjoyed the roof top area with beach chaises a great view of the stars. Check out time is listed at noon but they told us eleven and were sticking with that regardless of what was posted on the room doors. When I gave my sob story about lost reservation and noise they extended it to 1pm for me and called us a cab to cruise port. The neighborhood was kind of creepy with pockets of pot crumbling streets and abandoned buildings but luxury hotels across the street on the beach. There was fighting in the halls and someone pounding on a nearby door begging and shouting to be let in every hour or two the WHOLE night. I didn't call desk because I thought it sounded like the police and frankly I was afraid. The next day, Staff said it was festival so people were returning drunk--someone lost their key but was too drunk to ask for help. They, of course, said I should have called them but I really did think it was the police. (The door pounder was speaking Spanish but had that police authority to their voice.) I would not return. I would spend the extra money and stay in a name brand hotel.

I stayed here 2 times, was very helpful, he where and when to go anywhere.the agent was willing to make arrangments for us to go site seeing, to the rain forest, or where ever we needed to go. The 2nd time I stayed there was again very helpful. The breakfast was free and good. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Walking distance to the fabulous beach. I love the Condado area and long to go back there. still works there and it has been about 4 years since I was there. You do not need a car when you stay here, the bus is a very inexpensive was to get around. If you do feel the need to drive, there is a car rental place a couple of blocks away and you can get one for just a day if that is all you need it. There are so many things to see in this area, I really did not feel the need to leave it except to go to the Plaza Des Americas, and we took the bus there - I will stay here again.

Upon arrival there was no friendly welcome by the desk clerk. I left my purse in the taxi and asked for his assistance to make phone calls. He appeared very unconcerned and read the newspaper while making phone call to taxi company. The hotel was on the scale of a Motel 6. It was clean and convenient for walking to restaurants. My only complaint is the price for this level of hotel. It must be the location that demands this price. Also, I was double charged and I had to haggle with the manager for weeks prior to my arrival to get a credit for the overcharge.

The price is excellent, the staff is great and the location, you can walk around the Condado area and enjoy the great restaurants and beaches. I'm not returning only for one reason, there is no parking, so you have to leave your keys and If you are in a hurry that could be a problem, also there are better hotel in the same price range with pool and parking. I had the bad luck that in the second night of my stay I left my keys in the front desk, to discover in the morning that they bump the whole back part of my car. They took responsability, but I lost alot of time with the whole police report and the paper work of the insurance. So, I recommend checking lots of hotels before making a reservation on these one.

My Husband, Mother in Law ower I spent a week at El Canario by the Lagoon. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable. Parking was cramped but it worked. The neighborhood was great. No room service or bar. The staff was great. they knew our names and always said hello. The breakfast was great. We gave big hugs to the manager when we said goodby. (The manager found my mother-in-law's gold earring and she was overjoyed.0 Will stay again!
