We went to San Diego to warm up. Unfortunately we brought the cold weather with us. The hotel was adequate but not special. The room as with any Embassy Suite was very large with a living area and a bedroom. We asked for a king size bedroom and when we got there they wanted to "upgradeP us to a room with two double beds. The breakfast and managers cocktail were often very crowded. The room was certainly adequate, but there wasn't anything special about the hotel or room that made it memorable.

We were there for our honeymoon & my husband ended up having a cold & on top of it got food poisoning while there, so needless to say we were in the hotel most of our stay and were thankful that it was a suite. So the hotel was great! We loved it! We loved that there was a made to order breakfast everyday & free drinks every night. The location was perfect. The hotel is right across from Seaport Village and a short walk from the USS Midway & the Gaslight District. We want to come back to see more of the city, & if we do, we will be staying at the Embassy Suites again.

Everything was great except the valet. I enjoyed all of my stay but the valet ruined it. I was bummed that valet was $* bucks and required but got over it quickly because I usually enjoy Embassy Suites. Anywho, the stay was fine but then we tried leaving. Tried is the key word because it took us close to a half an hour to get out of there and their whole system was chaotic. I'd rather walk then deal with that again. Since this hotel doesn't have the self parking option I will not be staying there again. It's a beautiful hotel and friendly staff though.

The Ramada is in a building built in 1913 and the rooms are small. I was on a business trip and needed a desk for a work station. The modern upgrades made the stay tolerable, but I would chose an more modern hotel next time.
