I was forced to stay in this hotel while on business travel in late March 2010. This place is a hovel. DirtyDirtyDirty! Did I say Dirty? Filth in all corners of the room. Disintegrating bathroom. Broken-off fake fingernails beside bed. "Continental Breakfast", coffee and a banana Idling diesel pickups outside the room door. Migrant family children running and playing at all hours. Front desk is piled high as if managed by a hoarder. Linens are worn out and stained. The Executive Suites does not live up to its name. Manager is foreign with thick accent, hard to understand his English. I was forced to stay because I am a federal government employee and have no choice in accommodations. This "hotel" is what I was stuck with. Do Not Stay Here! The place is a health and safety hazard.

I chose this hotel because they were pet friendly and I did not have a lot of options for rooms in Carlsbad. After walking into the room I imediately noticed that the coffee maker had half of a pot of brewed coffee that had been there for some time. Our fridge had an open bottle of water inside. The bed and pillows were so uncomfortable that I can't put my feelings into words. The bathroom was falling apart. Ceiling falling in, tile broken, towel bar broken off wall, etc. Carpet was dirty, chair was dirty and the entire place was outdated. I walked to the playground area for children and found beer cans, metal bottle caps and trash in the playground sand. Couldn't find a working ice maker in the entire place. Safety chain type lock was broken. Breakfast was cereal, warm milk and bananas. I wouldn't recommend even for a night, and complaints about my room got me no where.

There is nothing Executive or Suite; about this hotel. The place needs sprucing up - the lobby was shabby, the pool was drained. Since we only needed a bed to sleep in. But I'll never go back.
