Beginning with the first of our four-day stay, we requested that the seriously sluggish outflow of bathroom sink water be fixed. It never was. We were told that the maintenance man went home sick over the weekend, and apparently there was no one to do maintenance work in his absence; nor was anyone called in. Likewise, we requested a change in mattresses because ours was overly soft, causing us to embrace in the middle of the bed far longer than planned!! LIKE ALL NIGHT. Sleep was not restful, nor adequate. Would we stay there again or recommend this hotel to others? NO.

Hotel looked okay from the street, but once inside, things began to fall apart. We had reserved a non-smoking room, and were first assigned a room that was already occupied, then we were given a smoking room that reeked of odors, finally, after about 45 minutes, we were finally assigned to a non-smoking room. The room was dirty (hair in the bed, and around the toilet), obviously hadn't been cleaned after the last patron left it. Every morning, we got a knock on the door to be faced with someone with a clipboard asking if we were checking out that day. Not only did one person come with a clipboard, but within 15 minutes, we got another knock and another person with a clipboard asked us the same question about checking out. This was all before 10am. Seems the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing at this place. Also seems that if they would just check their paper work, they would know when we were checking out. I am giving this place a terrible rating in all categories.

I couldn't imagined staying at a worse place that Extended Stay America. Not only did I get the wrong rooms (smoking), but when I asked for a change, I was treated as if I was responsible for their mistake. No toilet paper in the bathroom, missing power buttons on the TV sets (also missing TV remote controls), cigarrete buts under my bed (and the smoking stench that filled the rooms!) are some of the issues I had to deal with. Not to mention that the place itself is hard to find if you are not familiar with the freeway system around this industrial neighborhood. Although a security guard is present, my car was vandalized and items stolem from me. When I reported the incident to the front desk, I was told the Oakland Police doesn't respond to these trivial incidents. I would stay in my car if I had the choice again.

Not the best location....my room was less than 50 feet from a busy freeway (Hwy 880)...I can see the facial expression on the drivers going by Great to have a kitchenette; however, smells from others cooking permeated walls & furnishings.

All of the hotels I usually use were booked. This brand new hotel looks appealing from the street and on the web.I did not know that there is no maid service included in the price. $10 per day extra. I wanted to like this Hotel, but it is a luxury-free Motel.
