My husband and I stayed here for two (too short!) nights while attending a party/event at Lake Travis. We are from Texas (Dallas area), but were not familiar with Austin hotels. I am VERY picky about hotel rooms - I expect them to be immaculately clean and like a good value and great comfort. I called around to several hotels close to where we were going to be, and asked lots of questions about rooms. We finally decided on this one, knowing that we could leave if we didn't like it when we got there. X is who we talked to on the phone, and she held our room for us, and was very helpful! When we arrived, we were VERY pleased with our room. We actually had a handicapped room (we are not handicapped and didn't ask for this room, and felt a little guilty taking one, but I guess they had plenty available - we would have traded to a regular room if someone needed ours!), and it was VERY roomy. The room was IMMACULATELY clean, and the beds at Fairfields are AMAZING. GREAT pillows, firm mattresses with those cushy soft pillow tops, and BEAUTIFUL and clean linens - none of those scratchy, ugly, quilted polyester things here! I really didn't want to leave! The only downside was the bathroom counter is kind of small to fit all of our toiletries, but that's not enough to keep us away! Breakfast was very good (and open fairly late in the morning!), with a nice selection and quality goods. The staff was always very helpful and the location is a great one - close to NXNW and some great shopping, and not far from downtown or the lake. The price was also great (89) - which was cheaper than other ones that were closer to downtown and we didn't have to go online to get that price. We were very pleased with our selection and have "bookmarked" it in our GPS because we will definetly stay here again!

Hotel was nice for the money, but they fail to mention that it is built directly next to a raildroad. I heard the first train at about 7:30 pm and I called the front desk to request a new room, but they said they were all booked and I could check again in the morning. They told me not to worry because the train stops at 11:00 pm, but the trains run all night every 1 1/2 hours. I was in town on business, so the next day as difficult due to lack of sleep. Front staff was able to change rooms the next day and cleaning service moved all my things while I was gone. Be sure to request a non-train side when booking because they won't tell you about the train.

This hotel is a little off of I35 which doesn't matter to us. The price is great, rooms are clean, bed is comfortable and we have a $* bed at home. Staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms are clean and do not smell like smoke. I would definitely recommend to anyone. In fact we are staying there again this month. I made reservations when I left last month. The breakfast was great and the people helping with it were very polite and helpful. I give it a 10.
Thank you....
