Had orginally booked the Fairfield Inn @Fifth but construction was way behind so Marriott moved us here for the same price which was almost 400 a night--we felt this hotel should be priced a little lower than one near Fifth. Times Square is quite a few blocks away the street is less than desirable NY Parole Board parking garage an adult video store. Construction across the street also so the street itself is a little busy. This is a boutique style hotel which is kind of nice a lot quieter than a larger standard hotel the rooms are clean modern comfortable great for 1-3 travelers but a 4th could be tight especially if you plan on doing shopping. The staff was very accomodating and helpful and you cant beat the breakfast lots to offer for all appetites. Transportation is close by for your travels around Manhattan but one thing that was strange was when we left to go to the hotel the bellman told us that taxis were not allow to pickup to take to the airport from their hotel--this was my 3rd time in Manhattan that year so I found this a little strange. Didnt want to press the issue but told them we wouldnt pay more than the taxi fare to JFK. It all worked out.

The hotel was very clean, convient, staff was friendly and helpful very good selection for breakfast. The down sides were construction across the street and the adult video store you had to pass to get to 8th Ave. Would recommend this hotel to others.

This hotel is a little oasis in a busy micro'hood - and to be clear, Times Square is several blocks away. It's not the nicest street - you have the Paroling Authority a few doors down, some crappy little shops, a couple of garages and Port Authority across the street. On the bright side almost all the major subway lines are accessible w/in a block or two. The hotel serves continental breakfast and lists a delivery option in its room service menu. I didn't use either so I can't comment. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The rooms are comfortable and of decent size. There are only maybe 8 rooms to a floor so you don't get the hallway noise you get at the Hilton or other huge hotel. If you get a back-facing room like I did, you will be surprised at how blissfully quiet it is. Except for the A/C which roars when it kicks in. I don't think the room was worth what I paid for it, but "Times Square" demands a premium and I didn't have a choice location-wise.
