Checking in was difficult, their elevator was out of order due to a rainstorm leak, but eventually they did find us a room on the ground floor. (Room 109) They sent cookies to our room as an apology. The last night (Jan. 28), we were awoken at 4AM by a high-volumne TV in the adjacent room (Room 107). When I phoned the Front Desk, no attempt to speak to the 107 occupant was made until 4:30AM. The noise did abate after 5AM when the hotel employees visited the offending party, but sleep was not possible. Being awoken at 4AM was very, very inconvenient being that we had a long day of travel to endure, and the lack of sleep was resented. There has been NO offer of compensation by the Fairfield In by Marriott. We will consider other hotels over the Fairfield in our future travels. Jim and LaVonne Treat Portland, Oregon

Not a friendly hotel

The service was excellent. They placed me in a quiet indoor room, reserved a shuttle back to the airport, which they paid for. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast wasn't very exciting but I didn't go hungry. Everyone at the front desk was very nice.

I stayed here to take the california bar exam at the convention center. i made reservations five months in advance. i called to make sure that i got a quiet room bc sleep and quiet is very important. they said "all our rooms are quiet." i called about a week before my stay to make sure that i have a quiet room. they said no problem and that it would be all taken care of. i got there and they said "we are checking u into a quiet room. the quietest we have." they gave me a room overlooking the freeway!!!! the noise was awful. i couldnt sleep one wink. they offered me earplugs but it didnt help at all. i went the next day and cried to the receptionist til they transferred me to a quieter room. they had rooms in the interior of the hotel. that were much quieter than the freeway room. i dont know why they didnt put me in one of those rooms to begin with considering i called and requested it no less than 4 times. their service was awful and they lie. but their rooms were nice and their breakfast was good. but IF YOU WANT QUIET, STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. Sometimes its hard to choose when you're not familiar with the area. I lucked up with this one. I was in the room approx 1 hr and the front desk called to welcome me and to see if there was anything I needed. I felt special. Although the hotel is very clean, quiet, and isolated there are alot of attractions 1 to 3 miles away. Also because of the conservativeness of this hotel I do not recommend children. They may be bored. "
