  We arrived early evening on Friday and found three young individuals at the hotel desk trying to help one guest. We waited approximately 15 minutes to check in. Our room keys did not work. Lobby elevators were not secured from outside entry. We were on the 8th floor and the room was small. Apparently the hotel sits over the subway because we could hear the subway every time it passed under our hotel. The area surrounding the hotel is a little suspect -- large groups on the sidewalks, dark streets, etc. We had trouble flagging a taxi and no bellman or concierge to help with travel, reservations, etc. It was fine for two nights but wouldn't stay in this hotel on our next trip.
