We are completing our stay, and are very disappointed. This hotel was recommended for a conference nearby. The website suggests this hotel would provide historic charm and modern conveniences, but doesn't reveal that the events hosted by the hotel (parties, dances, receptions, etc.) impose dramatically upon the hotel's paying guests. Specific concerns: The hotel rooms are located in a converted motel or apartment, with room doors opening into a parking lot. Ice machines require a trip outdoors. Our room window faced the busy street, so we had traffic noises from both sides. The rooms form a semicircle facing the parking lot, with an open party pavilion in the center. The hotel books this pavilion for various parties, and on two of the three nights we stayed there were parties with bands blaring loud music late into the evening. I was told that the music would stop at 11pm, but I am writing this on Saturday night after 11, and the party is still going. I'll call the desk again. (They did stop the music after I called, but I sure do hate feeling like a curmudgeon.) The partyers' vehicles compete for the limited parking spaces available for hotel guests, and the guests are forced to park and directed to yellow curbs on site or remote lots FAR behind the hotel buildings. The partyers' themselves wander down the "motel" walkways with cigars and beer bottles, loudly continuing the party after the music stopped. This hotel provides the Southern Charm of a truck stop, and the owners/managers know it. When I went to the office building to complain, the desk clerk was on the phone apologizing to another guest; she said there had been many other calls. I am sorry we stayed at the Foundry Park Inn.

We really enjoyed our stay and have stayed at many hotes in Athens since our son is at UGA. This has been the best one ever. Came to Athens over football weekend and even thought it was so busy, the staff was fabulous and it was a fun filled time. The pillow top mattress was great and we really loved the Melting Point music show and the game day activities. We will be back!

We would not have stayed a second night if we had booked it. -

On arrival, door hinge needed repair. I had called prior to verify avail. wirelessANDwired web, but when I got there: no ethernet connect. One of my beds had dirty sheet. The menu for the hotel"s MeltingPot restaurant showed wrong price, so I paid more than expected. Also, my expensive burger was more char than flavor. AND I had gnats!!! Of course, I discovered most of this when I finally retired to my room for the evening.
