Location. The historic Gran Hotel Costa Rica is a restored 1930s property that stands adjacent to the Plaza del la Cultura and the National Theater in San Jose, Costa Rica. The Omni Mall is located one block away and the Metropolitan Cathedral is two blocks from the hotel.
Hotel Features. Complimentary American style breakfasts are served each morning, and Restaurant 1930 is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bar Bufo Dorado features live music and large screen televisions while Cafeteria Las Arcadas y Cafeteando serves gourmet selections 24 hours a day. Communication needs are met via the business center and through wireless Internet access. Multi function rooms accommodate corporate and social gatherings. This hotel also offers a fitness center with cardiovacular and strength training equipment. An on site casino is open 24 hours a day and offers table games and slot machines. Additional property amenities include laundry facilities, massage services and an arcade room.
Guestrooms. This five story hotel offers 90 guestrooms and four suites with antique style furnishings and neo classical décor. Balconies or patios afford views of the city. Room amenities include private bathrooms with separate bathtubs and showers, minibars, safe deposit boxes, coffeemakers and cable television. Expert Tip. The National Theater, considered by many to be the most beautiful building in the country, is located next to the hotel. The theater maintains an active schedule of ballet, opera, play and music performances, except during the months of February and March. The theater conducts tours and houses a café.
