I was here from late June to early Aug. At that time of year, the hotel was packed with families and kids of all ages. In spite of that, staff stayed on top of things, and were always helpful and genuinely cheerful. Even with the chaos of children and teens, it was a pleasant stay.

We liked the hotel, but the person who registered us made it very clear that she did not like the fact we had booked thru a travel agency. Come on, we're in Michigan, how do we know what's available in Rapid City, SD. Right now I'm waiting to see my credit card statement to find out if She has actually charged us $* more than the travel agency did for the stay. Other than that bad experience we liked the hotel. We struggled with her because we had not made it clear that we wanted to be on the ground floor (they had plenty of rooms) and we did not want to be in a smoking room. So, I will see when my credit card statment comes if we are going to have to battle "GrandStay" for an up charge.

This location is head and shoulders above any place I've stayed this year. The rooms are clean and spacious with large comfortable beds. The staff was professional, well mannered, and helpful. A hot breakfast is also a plus.

We were on vacation for site-seeing in the area and it was wonderful to come back to this hotel each evening. The rooms were decorated very nice and it was quiet especially at night. We had easy on/off freeway access and nearby shopping for anything we needed as well as many restaurant choices. The refrigerator was full-sized and there were plenty of plates, glasses, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and they honored all special requests for extra towels and such. We did not take advantage of the breakfasts offered except coffee, juice and yogurt but everything looked fresh and was displayed tastefully. We loved the area and plan on going back and will check this hotel first. We will also check other areas when vacationing for a GrandStay.

We enjoyed our stay. Rooms are brand new as hotel just opened. Very modern appearing. Staff was very helpful and friendly. They should maybe just stick with more of a continental type of breakfast, microwaved powdered eggs are not enjoyable. The pool is on the small side, especially with several families trying to be in it. Overall, it is a great hotel and we will stay again.
